1. Four Islands Tour
We have a private boat to take you on a tour of a number of islands in our neighborhood. You will see stunning vistas, islands with interior lagunes that can be reached only at low tide, many different birds, some monkeys and sealife. If you are lucky, you might even spy a whale shark.
2. James Bond Island
Who does not want to check whether the tall island that housed the hide-away of Francisco Scaramanga, the Man with the Golden Gun in the James Bond movie of 1974, was indeed blown up or whether it is still standing. Clever marketing has renamed Khao Phing Kan, an island in Phang Nga Bay not far from Koh Yao Noi where the famous film with Sean Connery was made, as “James Bond Island”. We can arrange for a private boat to take you there so that you can check for yourself whether the island is still standing.
3. Big Tree Excursion
The big tree at the northern tip of the island is a popular spot for tourists and locals alike. You will experience serene lagunes, old tropical forests, islands with long beaches as well as birds and sealife. Usually less crowded than the four islands tour and the James Bond excursion, which are also popular for tourists that come in larger boats from Phuket, the Big Tree excursion is a lovely low-key activity you will enjoy.
We can also tailor a half-day or full-day tour to your wishes. We work together with a number of local boatmen who are more than happy to take you out and show you around. For every boat excursion we provide you with a pic-nic lunch (in re-usable containers, of course) as well as beach towels so that you can really immerse yourself in beautiful Phang Nga Bay.
4. Explore Phuket
There are any number of activities that are offered in Phuket, only a half hour boat ride away. How about a round of Golf at the Mission Hills Golf Resort? How about a tour of the numerous temples and pagodas? Old Punket town has lovely old streets with traditional shop houses that today offer anything from fabric stores to coffee shops. Our resident manager can arrange for a reliable taxi to pick you up from the ferry pier and take you around.
5. Explore Koh Yao Noi
At DKR on Koh Yao Noi island you are on one of the Andaman sea’s most beautiful spots. To explore further we offer a number of ways to do that. How about renting a Tuk Tuk or a motor bike to explore the island. If you feel you need the exrcise, we can also lend you a mountain bike.
6. Bird Watching
Do you like bird-watching? You do not need to go far. From our terrasse you can observe a variety of local birds, including the iconic hornbills, without leaving your chair or getting out of the pool. If you want to see more we can arrange for a local ornithologist to take you into the forest. And if you are lucky you may stumble upon a songbird contest in the village.
7. Thai Cooking
Our staff is quite happy to show you their little secrets of Thai Cooking. If you want a more formal introduction to Thai cuisine our resident manager can arrange for a qualified local cook to come to the house and teach. Or maybe, you want to first go to the market with the cook to see all the foods that are locally available.
